MAY UPDATE

The audiobooks for the Heirs of War series have now been published and are available on amazon and audible. It was great working with Aaron Smith on the series and he really made the characters come alive.

Earlier this year, I released a multi author eBook set with six first in series books in it, titled Rise of Legends. It is free to download from most stores, and has proven very popular with fantasy fans!

Stay tuned, more book news coming this summer!

New Audiobook

It feels awesome to announce the publication of the audiobook of An Inheritance of Ash and Blood. It’s now available on audible/amazon, with a run time of 13 hours 40 minutes.

It was great to work with Aaron on this project. He really killed it with the range of voice work which I think adds a lot to the story.

A Crucible of Fire and Steel: Release of Book 2 of Heirs of War

It’s been a busy 7 days and I’ve just realised I haven’t officially announced the release of A Crucible of Fire and Steel on the website. So now I have.

A week on and the release is going well. Book One has a temporary price reduction on the eBook for January if you are new to the series. As for Book Three, this one is in the very early stages of the writing process and I don’t anticipate serious progress until later in the year.

That said, I do have a release of something else scheduled for the summer and some big news around that, so stay tuned. For more regular updates than this blog, make sure to sign up to my newsletter which is my primary method of communication. This is an email delivered to your inbox, around once or twice a month, depending on news.

New Release: An Inheritance of Ash and Blood

Excited and a little bit nervous to finally be releasing the first book of my new series, Heirs of War, now available to buy in eBook, paperback, hardback, plus available through kindle unlimited.

With An Inheritance of Ash and Blood I return to the setting of my first series, Dalriya. Fifteen years have passed since Diis was destroyed. No, he’s not back-but a new god has arrived. He has enslaved the Lippers and the people of Dalriya, godless, find themselves unable to stop him.

We follow Sanc, who begins the novel aged 12, as he first becomes aware of the sorcerous powers he has been given. Where they come from, he doesn’t know. But in a world where sorcery is dying out, they mark him out as an important figure in the coming conflict.

Here are some details about the book:

  • There are three points of view: Sanc; his older brother Peyre; and Liesel, daughter of the last emperor of Brasingia.
  • The coming of age storylines are combined with epic fantasy style worldbuilding, political intrigue, and war.
  • Although we follow a new generation, some characters from The Weapon Takers Saga do reappear in this series.
  • This is my longest novel, at 125,000 words.
  • This is a planned series of three books. Book two has a release date of 10 January 2023. More news on this soon!

Ogre’s End Game: Final Audio Release of Me Three

The final book of the Me Three series, Ogre’s End Game, recently got its audiobook release. What a fun project it’s been, listening to Chuck Wagner bring the series to life!

Even if the writing’s gone a bit slowly this year, I can content myself with the release of four audiobooks! It’s been great to hear the positive feedback for Chuck’s performances – thoroughly deserved.

Remember, this series is WIDE, so there are several options to pick up the audio – check out the audiobooks page of my website for all the details.

Og-Grim-Dog in the Stores

The Amazon set up is all done now. The paperback of Og-Grim-Dog is for sale already and the eBook is on pre-order in all stores, with a release date of 15th June.

The book is also entered in the SPFBO6 competition, which is an exciting addition. I’m looking forward to meeting other authors and finding great indie reads through that.

Reviews from my ARC readers are also mostly in now, with a lot of positive responses. There are already 9 reviews of the book up on Goodreads, a great way for potential readers to get a feel for what the book is like.

As for the rest of the series, my beta-readers have had a look at the second book in the series, Og-Grim-Dog and the Dark Lord. That will get a final edit over the next few days. I have asked Andrey, the same artist who did the first cover, to work on the cover for book two. We have agreed on a design and I think it’s going to look awesome! Meanwhile, I have begun to write book 3 of the series, Og-Grim-Dog and The War of The Dead.

So in other words, it’s getting pretty busy right now!

The Giants’ Spear

It’s finally here! The end of the series!

Here’s the cover for Book 4 of The Weapon Takers Saga. The official release date for the eBook is 15th November, but it’s already available to buy on pre-order. What’s more, the price will be set at $/£2.99 until release day.

Feels weird to be saying the series is over, but looking forward to finding out what everyone thinks of it.

Bolivar’s Sword eBook Out Now – 0.99

So, Bolivar’s Sword has now had its eBook release and will be 0.99 on Amazon for the first half of July until it goes back up to 3.99. The first reviews are also now in and seem to have settled on a 4**** average on amazon.com – see here. It feels good having a couple of books on sale now – hopefully the next one won’t take a year!

I have also started a kindle countdown for Toric’s Dagger, which means that it will be available at $0.99 for a week too, but unfortunately only on amazon.com (US Amazon).
